Principal’s Message April 28, 2024 Dear Gilbert Elementary School Families, Important Dates & Reminders This week is packed with exciting events and important reminders! Here’s a quick rundown: iReady Testing (K-2): Our youngest learners in Kindergarten through 2nd grade will be taking the iReady benchmark assessments all week. These tests help us measure student progress and create personalized learning experiences. SC READY Testing (3rd Grade): Get ready to cheer on our 3rd graders! They will be taking the SC READY tests this Tuesday, Wednesday, and Thursday. We know they’ve been working hard and will do their best! Help us make sure they get plenty of rest and are at school each day ready to do their best! Title 1 Parent & Family Engagement: Families, as partners in your child’s education, your input is very important to us. Please take a few minutes to complete this brief survey. The information you share will be used to help evaluate and strengthen parent and family engagement within our Title I schools. Please complete one survey per family. Spring Picture Day (Friday): It’s time to capture those bright smiles! Spring Picture Day is happening this Friday. Individual and class photos will be taken. When visiting the school, please use the doorbell and follow entry procedures. Handicapped spaces are only to be used for designated individuals - these spaces are not to be used to drop off students. Also, parents need to walk their students to the crosswalk, they can’t be dropped off in the parking lot on their own - this is a safety concern. Our current Average Daily Attendance Rate for this past Friday was 93.18%. We moved in the right direction a little bit from the previous week! We are inching closer to our goal of 95%. Help us meet our goal as we close out the year! When healthy, thank you for ensuring that our students are here each day and taking advantage of the opportunities to learn that we have here at GES!
